Jasmine Moten

The goal at I Try Fitness is to help motivate our clients to live a healthier and more active lifestyle. I have 7 years of experience working in physical and occupational therapy rehab at Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare as a physical therapy aide. This has given me the knowledge and ability to work with people that have had major life changing events. During my time at Casa Colina I had the pleasure of treating patients with such injuries as spinal cord injuries, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, total knee/hip replacements and many other physically debilitating diseases/injuries.

As a personal trainer, triathlete and everyday Joe. I know the struggles you face everyday with weight and body image. For the majority of my life I was overweight and completely unhealthy. I use to smoke, drink and eat fast-food on a daily basis. Until one day I looked in the mirror and said to myself enough is enough. I needed to take control of my life. So a co-worker and I decided to sign up for a sprint triathlon. It was one of the toughest things I've ever done in my life, but once I'd crossed that finish line there was a sense of  accomplishment and pride. I couldn't wait to sign up for the next one.  Since then I've completed over 20 triathlon of  various distances (sprint, Olympic, Half IronMan 70.3) and 4 half marathons (13.1 mile run). So I know how much work and courage it takes to make the decision to take that first step towards a healthy and active life. I always apply the same determination and commitment to helping you attain your personal training goals.

Appreciate the incredible opportunity you have to become fit. You have to prepare your meals, but many have no meals to prepare. Its hard to train before and after work, but many are out of work. lifting weights takes effort, but some can't even lift their own body from a wheelchair or bed. This is a privilege, so make the absolute most you can out of it. from that perspective, there are no failures, only opportunities.
